Thieves Use Fake Seizure to Steal $8,600 Worth of Puppies from Colorado Store

In a bizarre and shocking incident, two bulldog puppies were stolen from a pet store in Arapahoe County, Colorado, after one of the suspects staged a medical emergency to create a distraction. The Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office reported that three men entered Perfect Pets on Sunday and began walking around the store, seemingly browsing the animals. According to store employees and surveillance footage, one of the suspects suddenly collapsed and began faking a seizure. While employees rushed to assist him, another suspect took advantage of the distraction to snatch two expensive bulldog puppies. The third suspect acted as a lookout to ensure their plan went smoothly. As the employees attempted to intervene, one of the suspects dropped the puppies, allowing the thieves to escape with just one of them.

Fortunately, one of the stolen puppies was later returned to the store. A woman, who had unknowingly purchased the stolen puppy for $1,500, realized what had happened and brought the puppy back. In recognition of her honesty, the pet store announced that she would receive a reward, as the puppies were originally priced at nearly $4,300 each. Law enforcement officials are actively investigating the incident and searching for the suspects involved. The Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office urges anyone with information to come forward to assist in recovering the second stolen puppy and hold the thieves accountable. This unusual case highlights the lengths criminals are willing to go for expensive pets and serves as a reminder for pet stores to remain vigilant against such tactics.
