Turning Waste into Wealth: PM Modi’s Initiative Yields ₹2,364 Crore from Government Office Scrap Sales

Recently, Narendra Modi spoke about how he added 2,364 Cr by selling recyclable waste from the Central Government office. This statement was made by PM Narendra Modi during his speech in Lok Sabha when he heard some slogans and announced about the recent 2,364 Crore income. He said, “Look at the misfortune of our country, how the governments were run and for whom they were run.” After hearing slogans he replied, “I tell those who mock the Swachh Bharat Yojana, we have raised 2300 crores by selling junk…”

He further added that he has removed 10 Crore people from various schemes who were not supposed to get benefited from the respective schemes, after removing these people from those schemes, he stressed that the government has saved around 3 Lakh Crore from going into wrong hands.

He also added, we have added Rs 2300 crore to the government treasury by selling scrap – the government started buying through the JM portal, brought transparency in transactions, which saved the government Rs 1 lakh 15 thousand crore. Our cleanliness campaign Swachh Bharat Abhiyan was also mocked. But today I can happily say that the government has received Rs 2,300 crore from the scrap sold in government offices due to the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, as Prime Minister Narendra Modi informed in the Lok Sabha. Mahatma Gandhi used to say that we are the trustees of the country, and we are working in the same way. Narendra Modi has said that by selling the waste from the cleanliness drive, we have added Rs 2,300 crore to the country’s treasury.
