 Switzerland Suspends Foreign Aid to Bangladesh Amid Ongoing Concerns

The US announced suspension of USAID for Bangladesh on 25th January, 2025 amid the ongoing concerns related to Bangladesh and its matters. Now, not even a week has passed, Switzerland adds into the list of those nations who decides to stop AID for Bangladesh. Switzerland has decided to cut off AIDS for three nations Albana, Zambia and Bangladesh.

The Swiss funding cut off from these countries are a result of their recent Parliament allocation less funds for foreign aid.

According to reports the Swiss Parliament has cut off CHF 110 million which comes to $121 from their annual budget of 2025. 

As a result, the Swiss Agency for Development programmes with end all their developmental programmes from the mentioned countries with by the end of financial year, 2028.
